GeneSys-P is supplied with two principal inlet options, a Membrane Inlet or a Capillary Inlet, the choice of inlet type being determined by the type of analysis.
Capillary Inlets give very fast (<180mS) response times to 100% signal step changes and are ideal for time critical monitoring of rapid process gas changes with real time. These inlets are heated and automatically draw flow from the process gas stream. Capillary systems are able to cope well with particulate and moisture in the gas stream and allow connection to gas streams at up to 1400 ° C. Detection limits with capillary inlets are slightly higher than for membranes with a typical minimum detection at around 0.5PPM. Capillary inlets are suitable for aggressive corrosive gases such as Chlorine, HF, HCL & Acids.
Membrane Inlets offer very low detection limits on most Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's) at levels of around 0.5PPB. These inlets require a gas flow of around 100ml/min across the membrane surface and this may be produced by bleed off from a positive pressure or draw from a small circulating pump. Response time is slower than the capillary with a rise time of around 3 seconds and a decay time of around 15 seconds for a 100% signal change. Membranes can be heated to improve response times and prevent memory effect but the maximum sample temperature (at the membrane) is 100°C.

Adding a Navigator system to your analyzer installation allows you to monitor up to 20 different sample points under software control. Sample points may be switched in any order or given a "priority" for situations where the analysis on a particular sample point (or points) is more time critical than others on the system.
Up to 64 individual compounds may be monitored on any sample point and the type of analysis is not fixed to a single set of compounds. The flexibility of MS analysis allows measurement of totally different components on each inlet, as the system switches sample point, it can also switch the analysis type. Adding Navigator makes your MS analysis very cost effective compared to the equivalent analysis on a series of discreet analyzers.
Navigator can be linked to capillary or membrane inlet systems and is supplied with full automation software. Data files for each sample point are created automatically each day (or a period of your choice) and are appended to each time the sample point is monitored to create a continuous record for each inlet.
All process and pilot plant instruments are supplied with Multi-Pro™ Graphical User Interface and process automation software. In on-line SCADA integrated systems, Multi-Pro controls the remote analyzer and provides for process specific inlet control and data storage.
Pilot Plant instruments can also benefit for the Multi-Pro 8 channel inlet display system. This GUI allows the user to select up to 4 1/4 screen displays of data trends from any of up to 8 inlets. The remaining 4 inlets run minimized. Simple clicks change the display from 1/4 screen to full screen, or swam between minimized and 1/4 screen display.
Mult-Pro interfaces data and control to SCADA for on-line systems or small scale PLC's for pilot plant applications.
