ecoSys Man Portable Mass Spectrometers (MPMS) from ess open up a world of opportunities for monitoring difficult compounds in remote locations. EcoSys offers low detection limits and sophisticated analytical software in a very small portable package. The Gas Tight ion source fitted to ecoSys offers very low background levels and a fast start-up time between switch on and reliable low level analysis. Mass spectrometer detection offers very fast analysis (even at low levels) with software to accurately profile, quantify and date-stamp emissions.
Easy to Use : Powerful automation scripting in ecoSys is able to control repeat tasks such as calibration, leak-testing or data-file allocation, making ecoSys a very user-friendly instrument. A wide choice of power supply options makes ecoSys the first choice for difficult field locations where power interruptions are frequent or where power supplies are simply not available.
Survey Mode ecoSys-P comes with powerfull analytical software which enables the system to perform "Survey Mode" analysis which are essential in the detection of "unknowns".In a typical "unknown" scenario, a "Bad Smell" is reported and the analyst wants to ensure that the cause is identified and nothing is missed out. Survey mode analysis allows all detectable mass peaks to be scanned and then replayed as trends to identify emission times. Analysis under the trend reveals full spectra which may be library matched to identify source compounds.
Trend Mode Trend mode analysis takes advantage of the incredible speed of MS when determining time-critical emissions data. In this mode, a number of individual analytes are selected (either based upon known emission content or the result of a Survey Mode analysis) and trended against real time. Very high acquisition speeds mean that a number of analytes may be acquired in a very short interval (less than 500ms) giving very accurate time-critical information. Since trend mode may be operated in qualitative and fully quantitative modes, what you see on the screen is quite litteraly what you get.
Multiple Power Sources Field conditions often mean that permanent power supplies are unavailable or unreliable. ecoSys operates on an internal 24VDC architecture which allows the sytem to run from multiple power sources. When mains power is available, ecoSys operates from any 90 to 230VAC source. If the luxury of mains is unavailable, ecoSys can run entirely from the Battery Pack accessory which can offer up to 8 hours continuous operation Where supplies are intermittent, the battery pack operates as an automatic UPS. A range of on-board adaptors for 12VDC and 24VDC vehicle power supplies is available and at just 80W ecoSys is easilly accomodated by most vehicle systems.
Rugged Remote Operation Remote field situations present unique problems for telemetry, data-transfer and diagnostic tools. Fortunately, evewry ecoSys-P is supplied complete with a set of advanced remote operation tools based on the industry standard Symantec PC Anywhere architecture. These tools allow full remote access to data and instrument control functions. You can transfer files manually or at pre-programmed times, operate theMS from a remote location and perform full diagnostic tests from any telephone line worldwide. PC anywhere is an established, reliable and secure system for total remote access..
Powerful Automation Scripting ecoSys software comes complete with powerful task automation software. This system enables users to quickly program the system to perform repeat tasks such as calibration, leak testing and data-file handling. If you are purchasing ecoSys with an application in mind, ESS will write automation process scripts for you, often within the price of the system. Any aspect of system operation may be automated and simple buttons and prompts allow a non-skilled user operating environment even in complex applications. Scripting also allows for acquisition of external signals and control of external accessories along with creation and trending / storage of mathematical data based upon calculations (mg/m3/hr for example).
Multiple Inlet Systems Because Mass Spectrometers offer massive speed advantages when compared with other techniques, there is alwas plenty of time to sapre during analysis cycles. A practical way to use this "spare time" is to have the instrument sample from a number of different lines, thus reducing the requirement for multiple analysers. The addition of our Navigator series of multi-stream selector systems allows multi-point sampling to be easily and quickly integradted with a standard system. Comprehensive software control allows simple user selection of sample times, stream-priorities, analytes and analysis order. Adding multi-point analysis allows you to realise the true potential of your ecoSys system without compromising your data.
