Vision USB

The Vision USB is our RGA instrumentation range, available in 200 or 300 amu variants. The complete instrument comprises control unit, RF Generator, and analyser head, together with the latest version of the Vision USB software package.

Suitable for a range of high vacuum applications, the Vision USB analyser is constructed entirely from UHV compatible stainless steel and high alumina ceramic.  Featuring an ion source with open mesh electrodes, it exhibits very low outgassing characteristics, and is equipped with twin thoria filaments.

The mass filter is constructed from a precision ground quadrupole array with alumina ceramic collars. At 125mm in length, it offers excellent transmission and resolution characteristics throughout the mass range.  Detection is made by a dual Faraday Cup / Channeltron electron multiplier detector which gives excellent gain and long term stability. The analyser is mounted on a 70mm conflat flange.

The RF Generator couples to the analyser by means of a 1.2m “elephant’s trunk” cable. Variable potentiometers for Delta M, Resolution and high and low end mass scale control are available as an option.

A 2M cable connects to the Vision USB controller, which houses the analyser and RF power supplies and USB interface unit. Optional front panel potentiometers for focus, ion energy, electron energy, and emission current are available as an option.

The Vision USB software is a comprehensive software package which combines powerful features with ease of use.  There is an analogue scan mode, with “overlay” feature, Bargraph scan with background subtraction feature, Leak detect mode and 20 Channel Multiple Ion Trend display, with full history and automatic data storage.  This mode is also available in fully Quantitative mode as well for full flexibility.

A “process” screen is available in the latter two modes, which show simple, intuitive graphical status of the alarm conditions of any particular sample channel.

Up to eight Vision USB instruments can be connected to a single PC and operated simultaneously.
